What made you want to try half-frame, and what was your first half-frame camera?
For some years already I only shoot film, and dived deeply into the world of the 1920s/30s folding cams. In that era half frame was the 4,5×6 cm on 120 film or the 3×4 cm on 127 film. I fell in love with the 3:4 ratio of the frames in portrait orientation. My first “modern” half frame was the Yashica half 17 EE rapid. At the moment one of my fave cams is the Pen FT.
What is it you like most about Half-frame?
The composition in 3:4 ratio and portrait orientation, and the stronger grain when shooting expired films.

Favourite subject and/or Half-frame photo?
I love the half frame for street and city life for being light and compact. One of my fave subjects in photography is shooting and experimenting with expired films. I like the results of double and multiple exposures which are pretty easy with the Pen FT, and most of all I like the resulting strong grain, which comes out much better in half frame.

Your top tip/s for shooting half frame photos?
Look out for the special composition and framing in 3:4 ratio – turn off any automatic and don´t forget to experiment with expired films, with multiple exposures, with over/under exposure (like with any other cam).
